Good work deserves a name on it.
Building a website is a team sport. The photographers who capture our students mid-kick. The typeface designers whose fonts carry our headlines. The open-source developers who quietly maintain the tools we lean on. Most of them will never walk into our dojo, and most visitors to this site will never know they exist.
This page fixes that. Here are the people, projects, and platforms that helped us build James Martial Arts Academy online.
Photography & Video
Every photograph and video clip on this website was captured at our dojo at 2356 Fletcher Pkwy, El Cajon, featuring real students, real families, and real training. No stock imagery. No actors. No filters masking what the training actually looks like.
- On-training floor action photography, captured during live classes with the written consent of students and parents.
- Instructor portraits of Sigung Darryl James and our teaching team, shot on location.
- Student testimonial photography, contributed by families who chose to share their child's progress.
If you see a photo of your child on this site and would like it removed, contact us and we'll remove it within 48 hours. No questions, no friction.
Typography
The typefaces you're reading right now were created by people who care deeply about how words look on a page:
- Playfair Display, designed by Claus Eggers Sørensen. Served via Google Fonts under the SIL Open Font License.
- Montserrat, designed by Julieta Ulanovsky. Served via Google Fonts under the SIL Open Font License.
- Lora, designed by Cyreal. Served via Google Fonts under the SIL Open Font License.
- Cormorant Garamond, designed by Christian Thalmann. Served via Google Fonts under the SIL Open Font License.
Web Development & Design
This website was designed, written, and built by Karate Loco, a marketing agency that specializes in martial arts academies that want to grow without sounding like every other dojo on the internet.
Booking & Scheduling
Free trial bookings and class scheduling are powered by LeadConnector (HighLevel), a platform we chose for one reason: it respects the time of the families who trust us enough to book.
Maps & Directions
Location and directions are provided through Google Maps. © Google, their data, their platform.
Content
All written content on this site, from program descriptions to the martial arts history articles, is original work produced for James Martial Arts Academy. Where we reference historical facts about Kajukenbo, Kosho-Ryu, or the broader martial arts world, we aim to cite lineage and sources accurately. If you spot an error, let us know. We'll fix it.
Something we missed?
Attribution should be exhaustive, not convenient. If you contributed something to this site, a photo, a piece of code, a quote, a translation, and don't see yourself credited here, that's on us. Contact us and we'll add you to this page.
