James Martial Arts Academy Holiday and Vacation Policy

Vacation Time: All eligible employees and volunteers receive two (2) weeks (10 business days) of paid vacation time annually. Vacation time is accrued based on hours worked throughout the year.

Sick Time: Employees and volunteers are entitled to two (2) weeks (10 business days) of paid sick time annually. Sick time may be used when an employee is ill, incapacitated, contagious, or for medical appointments.

Academy Holidays: The Academy observes the following federal and California state holidays:

• New Year's Day

• Martin Luther King Jr. Day

• Presidents' Day

• Cesar Chavez Day (California)

• Memorial Day

• Independence Day

• Labor Day

• Veterans Day

• Thanksgiving Day

• Day after Thanksgiving

• Christmas Day
  

Usage Guidelines:

• Vacation and sick time requests should be submitted in advance when possible.

• Sick and vacation time may be used during medical or family leave as permitted by California law
