MARTIAL ARTS PROMOTE KINDNESS
As a martial arts instructor, I teach my students to protect themselves very well in this frequently violent world. However, I spend the same amount of time and energy teaching them how we, as martial artists and our San Diego community, can use more KINDNESS, that’s for sure! Wouldn’t El Cajon be a better place if we all did just one act of kindness a day? It’s as simple as smiling at a stranger or holding the door.
Big or small, there are opportunities for random acts of kindness all around us if we take the time to look for them. People tend to do more kind things for others at this time of year, but it doesn’t need to be the only time we focus on random acts of kindness. So our challenge for our James Martial Arts Academy family is to practice acts of kindness not just leading up to Thanksgiving and Christmas, but every day!
But what can I/ my kids do on their own? So glad you asked! Here are ideas they can do all on their own to show more kindness in the world around them. All of the following ideas are free, need little to no guidance, and can be done by even the youngest children.
